In the middle of a four-game losing streak, Kentucky needed a win like a fish needs water.  It took that level of urgency to get John Calipari's young Kentucky Wildcats to fight for a victory. Quade Green might have the understatement of the year. “We needed this win very badly,” the point guard said after the game. Green made 5-of-6 shots for 12 points.  Most importantly, he had four assists and took care of the ball down the stretch.  Alabama head coach Avery Johnson thought the Crimson Tide could pressure Kentucky into making mistakes, but the Cats simply wanted it too bad to let a win slip away. "They were desperate and had a lot of energy. I thought maybe we could break them down a little more late in the game," Johnson said. Calipari has seen his team break down at the end of games far too often this season.  Today his players proved they can fight to win a tough one.  Now it's Kentucky's turn to make winning plays at the end of games. "They played desperate.  We gave away games this year....We have to start taking games from people, which means desperation."  He added, "We gotta go get some, and this was a good one." [mobile_ad]
