Devil in a Blue Suit

I never noticed his grin was so....devilish"]Cal[/caption] When I worked at a bookstore during college, there was a book that my coworkers and I were fascinated with. Basically, it attempted to methodically explain why various celebrities (including Bill Clinton, PeeWee Herman, and Frank Sinatra) could possibly be the Anti-Christ. I think it was supposed to be tongue and cheek but it certainly entertained us on boring afternoons. Jeff Neuman over at RealClearSports.com has a different theory.  Jeff thinks that Calipari could possibly be the devil (dressed in Zegna? I don't even know what that is and I'm a woman.) In a scathing piece (a huge understatement considering I have read a lot of articles ripping Cal and I was even shocked at this one), Neuman not only takes shots at Cal and Kentucky but also spends the last paragraph holding up Duke as the standard bearer for NCAA success. Consider this quote:
Four freshmen and a junior are heading to the pros from the Kentucky campus, having learned the vital lesson that nothing will be expected of them beyond the sidelines. Calipari believes that young people will flock to his program, looking to add their names to the school's glorious list of first-round draft choices. He's probably right. The devil has always been able to tempt the unwary by appealing to their vanity.
I don't know who this guy is except that he apparently is co-author of a golf book called "A Disorderly Compendium of Golf" (no joke). As Matt said earlier, everyone is entitled to their opinion and a columnist expressing his is nothing new. But I'll say the same thing I said when people started calling Wall "Blue Jesus": when you start comparing people to religious figures, it might be time to reevaluate how healthy your sports obsession really is.  I will say, it is surprising to me that Jesus and Satan were able to work so closely with one another this year without bringing about Armageddon.  Those guys never cease to amaze me.
