Every Wednesday each SEC coach spends approximately ten minutes taking questions from reporters from around the south. Before Zoom's became the norm during the COVID-19 pandemic, this was the only opportunity for Bob Holt of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette to ask the Tennessee coach a question. "Uneventful" is typically the word I would use to describe it, until Lane Kiffin's name was called this week. When the moderator called upon the Ole Miss head coach, Kiffin did not immediately respond. There was some rustling followed by silence. The second time the moderator asked if Kiffin or the Ole Miss SID was there, Kiffin was ready to roll. He proceeded to give an opening statement, sharing a little insight on the Kentucky Wildcats, before he was interrupted by the sound of a toilet flushing. "A challenge playing a really good team, very physical and runs the ball really well and played great defense last year and in the first game and limited explosive plays ***FLUSH*** as a team, so a lot at stake here. Need to play well." Listen to all of the action unfold: [audio mp3="https://kentuckysportsradio.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Someone-uses-the-toilet-during-SEC-coaches-teleconference.mp3"][/audio] Did someone unknowingly crash the call and flush the commode while Kiffin was talking, or did the carefree head coach let his bladder loose right in the middle of conversation? You can decide on your own, but as someone who's sat in on many teleconferences, this portion of the media opportunity is not yet open to questions. In order to ask a question, a reporter must press pound for the moderator to open the line. The only people who can talk at this time are the moderator, SID and head coach. I'd be willing to wager a significant chunk of change that Kiffin was the one using the toilet during the media opportunity. The real question -- is Kiffin No. 1 or No. 2 in the state of Mississippi?
