[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="4729"]coachcal.com UK Athletics[/caption] Dillon Pulliam is a walk-on on the University of Kentucky basketball team and an engineering major, two things that do not normally go together. Being part of the Kentucky basketball team is hard, but adding a computer engineering major to that almost seems impossible. Not for Pulliam. "It’s going to be a rough semester," Pulliam told the Lexington Herald-Leader. "So, hopefully I can handle it all. They are classes I enjoy, though. I mean, I have to have them for my major." To add even more to his busy schedule, Pulliam plans to computer science as a second major. According to Jerry Tipton, the last UK basketball player to major in engineering was Todd Svodoba, who played during the 1992-92 season. Svodoba studied chemical engineering. Pulliam said he hopes his degree will lead him to work for a technology company like Apple "One day, I’d want to design a new technology, whether it be a smartphone or maybe the control system on a plane or work for Apple. … I want to design stuff," Pulliam said. Being a normal college student is hard, so I cannot imagine what Pulliam is doing. Major props to him.
