Jonathon Nicola is a star at Catholic Central High School in Windsor, where Mychal Mulder once owned the court. At 6-foot-9 with a size 16 shoe, Nicola is a force inside for the Comets -- as he should be, considering
he is 30 years old.
Canadian border officials recently arrested Nicola, a native of South Sudan, for
posing as a teenager for the last six months. He has been living with Catholic Central head coach Pete Cusumano through a program called Canadian Homestay, which houses foreign students. Cusumano was Mulder's head coach as well.
The
story from the Windsor Star notes Cusumano believed Nicola had NBA potential, although I doubt too many NBA teams are looking for a raw prospect that was born when Kareem was still playing.
Maybe he should pursue a career in being an adult.
