Donald Russell's Mom Speaks Again

by:Matt Jones11/01/10
donald We may now have a new leader in the clubhouse for the "Mother most likely to talk" category, leaving Alex Legion's mom in the dust. Donald Russell's mother followed up her message board comments by speaking to Larry Vaught, and well...she had a lot more to say. In the article, she states that her son had been told he wasnt playing because of fumbles, but on Saturday night he couldnt have fumbled so "what is their excuse now." She complains that her son hasnt been given enough attention and that he hasnt gotten playing time that he should, calling it "shocking." She also said that there are multiple unhappy players no the team and that they are at a loss as to what to say to their son. She adds, "how could a player allow such a player with good character and talent to slip through their fingers", adding in what must have been a sarcastic tone, "this is not an Operation Win for us." I understand parents being upset, but I have no idea what Russell's mother thinks is going to happen positively from these comments. She is just ensuring that her son and Joker have awkward questions from the media and an unnecessary spotlight will shine on them. Joker had no ability to speak to the comments today due to a death in his family, but will certainly have to deal with it at a later date. The one person who is happy? Alex Legion's mom....because she will now have company in the Live Blog comment sections for some time to come.
