KSR readers, this is my friend Luke. Last October I introduced him to you here because he, and many other kids around Kentucky, the nation and the world, need your help. They still do. Luke is nine years old and lives with cystic fibrosis, a congenital, life-shortening disease which not only affects the lungs and digestive system but wounds families and steals time. You, however, can help Luke and the thousands like him next Saturday in perhaps the most “you” way possible: by drinking, eating pizza and listening to live music. I’d say that’s a pretty sound way to contribute to a great cause.

Next Saturday night, October 1st, we’re all invited to CRAFT Louisville, a party to help raise money for an end to cystic fibrosis which will feature craft beers from local breweries and distilleries, craft pizza from Louisville’s boutique pizza makers (pizza-iers?) and Louisville’s some of Louisville’s best local bands and musicians.

There is, perhaps, literally no more fun way to help raise money for an awful, horrible disease. Plus, a $100 raffle ticket will enter you for a chance to win a round-trip lear jet flight for up to eight people within a 750-mile radius of Louisville, and I think we can all agree that would be a fantastic way to roll up to your ex-girlfriend’s wedding and let her know that you are doing just fine.

Learn more about the event and buy tickets at CRAFT Louisville’s website here or join Cure CF’s CRAFT Facebook site here. And do consider heading out in Louisville to help Luke, his friends and those who live with cystic fibrosis. You guys are good people, and this is a very, very good thing you could do for some children who really need you.
