When you think of the 2012 National Championship team, Eloy Vargas isn't the first person that comes to mind. You probably appreciate Brian Long more than Eloy Vargas, but the big man is still ballin'.
Playing for Metros de Santiago in the Dominican Republic,
LatinBasket.com awarded Vargas with Player of the Week honors after recording an
18 point, 10 rebound double-double. Vargas is one of the best players for the league's first-place team.
He's second in the league in rebounding with 9.9 a game.
This type of play isn't unusual for Eloy in the Dominican Republic. The internet has blessed us with highlights from some earlier 2016 games, with excellent commentary in Spanish. The first is from a 23-point, 23-rebound game.
