Embarrassing.

Arkansas' game plan was to heavily attack the youth and inexperience of Kentucky's secondary with one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. It was executed to perfection as the Razorbacks destroyed the Wildcats 49-7. On the first play of the game, QB Tyler Wilson connected with WR Jonathan Williams for a 74-yard bomb that set the tone for the entire game. Even with the help of a one-hour long rain delay, the Wildcats defense couldn't slow down the potent Razorback offense. Wilson was almost perfect during his time on the field. He was pulled in the third quarter with a stat line of: 23 /31, 372 yards, and 5 touchdowns, which is good for a 227.9 quarterback rating. Yep, I didn't know that was possible either. ******************************* -Kentucky's defense had trouble stopping the run as much as the pass. The Razorbacks gained a total of 533 offensively, 162 were on the ground. It could have gotten much worse if the game had been finished, but thankfully it was called. This team found out tonight it desperately needs the leadership of safeties Tay Neloms and Mikie Benton in its secondary. The freshmen that played in their absence could eventually be good players for the Cats, but they just aren't ready to do so at this point. -Kentucky's quarterback situation was about as unreliable as its defense. Freshman Jalen Whitlow started the game, but essentially split time with Morgan Newton when the offense couldn't muster many yards with him under center. Newton is hobbled, but has a better grasp of the offense than Whitlow at this point, which explains why they at least gave him a shot. Whitlow eventually connected with WR LaRod King for a 61-yard touchdown for his first passing touchdown, but there wasn't much production from the Wildcats besides that. -There wasn't many bright spots for the Wildcats, but at least P Landon Foster had an outstanding game. Foster had eight punts averaging 48.6, with a long of 58. He will be an asset for this team for years to come. Welcome to Punter U. It doesn't get much easier for the Wildcats as another premiere quarterback comes to Lexington next weekend. Aaron Murray and the Georgia Bulldogs stroll into town coming off a bye week, and a blowout loss to South Carolina fresh in their minds. After watching tonight's game, they have to figure they'll be able to get right back on track against the team we saw tonight. Phillips and his staff have a week to figure out how to at least slow them down, but looking at the game tonight... is it even possible?
