Former Kentucky center Enes Kanter — who recently changed his legal name to Enes Freedom — had a busy NBA trade deadline.

Spending the 2021-22 season in Boston, the Celtics included Freedom in a trade at the deadline that temporarily sent him to Houston. From there, the Rockets quickly waived the veteran center, making him a free agent.

Freedom played 35 games this season for Boston, averaging 3.7 points (52.6% FG, 85.7% FT) and 4.6 rebounds in 11.8 minutes per contest. It was his second stint with the Celtics, previously playing for the team in 2019-20.

Freedom is now in his 11th season in the NBA, spending time with the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Celtics at various points. He’s averaging 11.2 points (54.8% FG, 77.7% FT) and 7.8 rebounds over the course of his career.

Waived by the Rockets, Freedom is now looking for a new home to continue his professional basketball career.
