Eric Quigley SEC Men's Player of the Year

Sweet pic, but I promise you it’s not as cool as this one of Eric Quigley

After the UK men’s tennis team’s glorious run through the SEC, everyone knew they would rack up some post-season awards.  The most expected award fell into the hands of the Wildcats’ top player after a fantastic season.  Eric Quigley was named the SEC’s Player of the Year.  Check out this article from UKAthletics for more.  Eric went 11-0 at No.1 Singles and was the No.3 ranked player in the nation.

He’s been a star since he got to UK.  I remember hearing rumors of his greatness around Louisville before he got to Lexington.  Yeah, he gave my little sister tennis lessons a couple times.  No big deal.  Check out this tidbit:

Quigley becomes only the second player in school history to earn the title of SEC Player of the Year, joining former UK All-American Jesse Witten, who earned the honor in 2005. On top of the player of the year award, Quigley was also named a first-team All-SEC performer for the third consecutive season.

Eric also received the Mr. Wildcat Award at the Catspy’s for the second year in a row.  His teammates  Alex Musialek, Anthony Rossi, and Panav Jha also made the All-SEC first team.  UK coach Dennis Emery was named Coach of the Year.  Let’s hope this dude ends up on the pro-circuit and dating a supermodel a la Andy Roddick.

Congrats, guys.  Go Cats.
