Breaking news from the world of sports:
a jury just awarded Erin Andrews $55 million in her civil suit against the Nashville Marriott for negligence for enabling her stalker, Michael Barrett, to secure a room next to her and secretly film a nude video of her through the peephole in the door eight years ago. Barrett and the hotel's management group and owner, The Windsor Group, will split the $55 million payment, Barrett 51% ($28 million) and the Windsor Group 49% ($26 million).
Good for Erin. From watching the trial coverage, it's obvious that she's been going through hell the past eight years, and in my opinion, she deserves every single cent. Hopefully she can find some peace now.
Last week, The Sporting News' Kami Mattioli and I did a podcast about the trial, which I encourage you to check out on the “
Kentucky Sports Radio” feed on iTunes or
on Podbay.
