ESPN2 picks up the Cats and Tee Martin gets paid

by:Thomas Beisner02/01/11
the deuce espn2 Pictures, Images and Photos Apparently there's some bad weather of some sort sweeping the country (heard anything about this?) and, as luck would have it, that might just work out for you quite nicely.  The Oklahoma-Baylor game has been cancelled (jeers), which now pushes your beloved Cats onto ESPN2, as well as ESPNU.  You'll still get Mark Gottfried on both telecasts (it's amazing that he can be in two places at once), but it should certainly make those of you without ESPNU quite happy.  Unless you don't have ESPN2 either. In completely unrelated news, Brett Dawson of the Courier-Journal released Tee Martin's new contract parameters today.  Martin's new deal will run through December 31, 2014 (not that it matters, he'll have an extension or new job by then) and increases his base pay from $160,000 to $185,000.  In a year, it increases to $205,000.  If you don't realize what a relative bargain that is, consider that Joker Phillips ($323k), Steve Brown ($315k), Randy Sanders ($250k) and Steve Ortmayer ($243k) all made more as assistants in 2009, which is the last year I could find accurate data. He's still buying drinks though. Don't forget to stop by tonight for the Live Blog at 6:30. It's a road game, so there won't be any spoilers 10 seconds before it plays out live.
