hartline Cameron Newton is "en fuego" and LSU's passing game is "freezer burn," according to Chris Low of ESPN.  Low also gave Mike Hartline some love in his Week 9 edition of "Hot or Not" on the SEC blog over at ESPN.com.  Under "not hot" you'll find Kentucky vs. the SEC East, not surprisingly.
NOT Kentucky vs. the East: The Wildcats are just 6-17 against Eastern Division teams going back to the 2006 season, which was the start of their four-year bowl streak.
HOT Kentucky quarterback Mike Hartline: He didn’t lead the Wildcats to a win this time, but find a quarterback any hotter throwing the ball right now than Hartline. In his last two games, he’s passed for 702 yards and eight touchdowns, while completing 68.6 percent of his passes and throwing just one interception.
And in the SEC Power Rankings, ESPN has Kentucky at #9, just ahead of Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
9. Kentucky: It’s pretty simple for the Wildcats (4-4, 1-4) right now. They just can’t stop anybody. In their five league games this season, they’re giving up an average of 39.8 points per game. Georgia jumped out early on them this past week and went on to a 44-31 victory, but the offense was as much to blame as the defense in digging an 18-point hole in the first half. Kentucky turned it over three times deep in its own territory.
So much for this being "the year" for Kentucky to make noise in the SEC. With four games left to play, the team's focus has gone from winning the East to just making a bowl game. Still Go Cats. Always.
