So, we didn't go undefeated.  Big deal.  It is nearly impossible to run the table in college basketball anymore.  I know it hurts to see the team lose, and, I can assure you, it hurts even worse when you don't check for studs before taking your anger out on that wall.  Just put a proud smile on that face, some ice on that hand, and think about how great this season can still be. Let's look at the big picture here: this team is still capable of winning it all.  Some of the greatest championship teams in the history of sports were one loss teams.  They say a midseason slip-up is just what a team needs to be ready for the chase for glory in the postseason. Take a look back at some famous one loss greatness: 1968 UCLA Bruins -- Loss: Houston Cougars -- Finished: 29-1, NCAA Championship 1974 NC State Wolfpack -- Loss: UCLA Bruins -- Finished: 30-1, NCAA Championship 1985 Chicago Bears -- Loss: Miami Dolphins -- Finished: 18-1, Super Bowl Champion 2008 Florida Gators -- Loss: Ole Miss Rebels -- Finished: 13-1, BCS National Champion Lance Armstrong -- Loss: Right Testicle -- Finished: Tour de’ France Champion (7x) Man o' War -- Loss: Sanford Memorial Stakes -- Finished: 20-1 career racing record 2003 Harlem Globetrotters -- Loss: UTEP Miners (coached by Billy Gillispie) -- Finished: Whistling "Sweet Georgia Brown" Pratyush Buddiga -- Loss: "succedaneum" -- Finished: 2002 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion The Little Giants -- Loss: Junior Floyd (QB) -- Finished: Urbana water tower changed to "Home of the O'Shea Brothers" ------------------------------------------- 2010 Kentucky Wildcats -- Loss: South Carolina Gamecocks -- Finished: TBD
