He is a Tackling Machine In just two games Butler has recorded 39 total tackles, the most in college football. Butler has nine more tackles than the second-leading tackler. Butler finished with 15 tackles in the Aggies' season opener and 24 in their win over New Mexico last week. The 24 tackles were a career-high for Butler. He Didn't Want to Play Linebacker In the early days of his football career, Butler played on the offensive and defensive line. When his body started to change in his early teens, he became taller and leaner, which lead to his position change. "My first position was on the offensive line and defensive line, in seventh and eighth grades, when I first started playing," Butler said. "I didn’t start playing linebacker until my freshman year in high school. I kind of leaned up and got taller, so I wasn’t used on the D line, though that’s where I wanted to play. My coaches said, ‘No, let’s move you to linebacker.’ I was a little longer and faster and I got adjusted to that." He Likes LeBron... A Lot Butler is a big fan of LeBron James.
