Former Kentucky coach and current Belhaven (D3) head coach Hal Mumme has accepted an offer to become offensive coordinator at Jackson State University.

Jackson’s Clarion Ledger was the first to report the news:

Sources close to the situation tell the Clarion Ledger that JSU is set to announce current Belhaven head coach and Air Raid specialist Hal Mumme to run the offense next season.

Mumme has been the head coach at Iowa Wesleyan, Valdosta State, Kentucky, Southeastern Louisiana, New Mexico State, McMurry, and Belhaven before accepting the job at JSU.

At Kentucky, Mumme finished with a final record of 20—26, including a 7-5 year with Heisman trophy finalist and No. 1 NFL Draft Pick Tim Couch in 1998.

The former Kentucky head coach also hosts a regular radio show on ESPN Radio (105.9 FM) in Jackson, which he will continue to host in his new gig.

Congratulations to Mumme on his new job!
