While he’s been preparing for next month’s NFL Draft, Josh Ali has also been working on a special side project.

The former Kentucky Wildcat wide receiver and hopeful draftee has recently published a children’s book, which is titled “Fishing is Fun For Everyone” and is set to be released on April 14, 2022, across all online mediums. This book will be the first of a new collection entitled “Young Joshua’s Big Adventure” which intends to focus on helping today’s youth embrace fresh outdoor adventures.

The books will be written from the perspective of a young and curious Josh Ali.

Ali came up with the idea for the book series during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic but really took off with it while recovering from an injury last season that caused him to miss a chunk of his fifth-year senior season. With some unexpected free time, he was able to put all his thoughts onto paper.

“After my surgery I had a lot of free time on my hands. I spent weeks sitting on the couch wishing only one thing, and that was to go fishing.” Ali said in a press release for the book. “The sport of fishing has helped me with my patience, gave me time to think about things, and it allowed me to have good conversations with those around me. I wrote this book to not only talk about my fishing experiences, but to show that there are many things to do outside other than sitting at home playing video games.”

Ali finished his Kentucky career with 44 total appearances over five seasons. The Hollywood, FL native hauled in 131 receptions for 1,447 yards and eight receiving touchdowns. His most productive season was in 2021 when Ali registered 41 catches for 601 yards and three scores. He will hope to hear his name called during the 2022 NFL Draft, which is set for April 28-30.

A link for the book’s purchase will be made available soon.
