Former Vol commit still weighing his options

by:Thomas Beisner11/24/08
With the commitment switch to Georgia Tech of South Carolina ATH David Sims, the University of Kentucky's effort to steal away a commitment from the Vols might be ramping up a bit.  Georgia RB Toney Williams, who is visiting UK on Dec. 5, has lost a bit of interest in Georgia Tech, but is seeing things heat up with Alabama, who will host him at this week's Iron Bowl against Auburn.  Williams, who is seen as a power back and is ranked by Rivals as the 49th-best RB in the country, measures in at 6'1", 229 and runs a 4.6 40.  The three-star player decommitted from Tennessee after Phil Fulmer announced he was leaving, but is leaving open the option of playing in Knoxville depending on who is named his successor.  His high school coach said last week that he would have no interest in playing for a coach running a system like Mike Leach's.
