One of the best football players in the state of Kentucky has set a decision date. Four-star wide receiver Dekel Crowdus will announce where he is going to college on his birthday, May 10. His ten finalists include Kentucky, Ohio State, Louisville, Baylor, Ole Miss, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Texas. https://twitter.com/CrowdusDekel/status/1239593314636218368 Ranked as the No. 2 player in Kentucky and No. 44 wide receiver in America, the lightning-quick Crowdus was one of just a handful of underclassmen that was invited to last year's Rivals Five-Star Challenge, an invite-only camp for the best football prospects in America. A 5-10 slot receiver at the collegiate level, Crowdus spent the 2019 season playing for IMG Academy in Florida. He returned to Lexington's Frederick Douglass High School this spring. The timing of Crowdus' announcement is just days after recruiting effectively stopped across the country. An NCAA dead period is in effect until April 15, preventing Crowdus from visiting campuses across the country. Recruits still can remain in contact with coaches via call or text. Without any inside knowledge, one would assume an early decision has to be a good sign for Kentucky. He's visited the school down the road more than any other as Vince Marrow and Mark Stoops also try to persuade his teammate, Jager Burton, to rock Kentucky blue. Burton was originally set to make his own announcement by August, but has now decided to postpone his collegiate decision until he's able to take his official visits. https://twitter.com/jager_burton/status/1246523536983961602?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1246523536983961602&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fkentuckysportsradio.com%2Ffootball-2%2Fin-state-star-jager-burton-pushes-back-commitment-date%2F If the Wildcats can convince Crowdus to turn down Ohio State and others, here's a little bit of what he'll bring to Kroger Field.
