Friday Afternoon's Week in Review

I know some of you were busy watching Randy Savage VHS tapes and repairing the damages and broken relationships from your Rapture's Eve party, so here is your Week in Review. Ya know, in case you missed some stuff...

UK Softball upset Michigan in two consecutive games in the Ann Arbor Regional of the NCAA Softball Tournament. The ladies advanced to the school's first ever super regional to be played against Cal (the school, not our Savior) at home this weekend. Tickets are already sold out. #leggoo

All-American defensive end Adolphus Washington of Cincinnati said UK is in his top 5 teams along with Michigan, Miami, Alabama, and Ohio State. When asked if he was joking, Washington said, "When it comes to Kentucky, I like them, my dad likes them, it’s SEC football and it’s close to my family.” I still can't tell if he is joking or not.

Murray State promoted assistant Steve Prohm to replace Billy Kennedy as head coach. BTI is devastated.

On Monday, Google tried to take down this state-of-the-art website by flooding the browsers of our visitors with malware warnings. And just as others who have tried to take us down have found out, we will not go down without a fight. Hubby, our knight in shining HTML armor, saved the day by doing something technical that I can't really explain. But it worked and the people were saved.

A new name surfaced on the 2012 recruit radar: Mitch McGary. He's big, he's bad, and we'll probably try to make news out of every little thing he does over the summer.

Brandon Bender went on the radio and talked a lot about nothing. I've heard he's not a fan of how I plugged his radio appearance in the Tuesday night post. Yawn.

China was hit hard by a flurry of points and rebounds by Eloy Vargas of Team REACH USA. Our boy Eloy nearly averaged a double-double in the land of orange chicken with game-highs of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Some have even called it the most dominating performance by a Dominican Republic native playing for a United States Christian ministry basketball team in China ever.

The first KSTV Casting Call was a success. If you're not at Sam Swope in Louisville on June 4th, well, you're an idiot. See you there.

The associate commissioner of Conference USA, Chris Woolard, was hired as the associate athletic director for basketball. Woolard is a guy Cal has tried to bring on since he arrived at UK and now Calipari finally has his man. How many other jobs in America can a guy hand pick his boss?

Kentucky basketball tied Vanderbilt at the top of the SEC with a 974 APR score. Remember how good it felt to run home to mom with an A on that biology test? Neither do I. But I imagine it feels about like this does. Yay for academic progress rates!

Dirk Nowitzki missed a shot. The rest went in and he's leading the Mavs to the NBA Finals against the Hollywood Heat. "Larry Legend 2.0"

ESPN had a story about an Indiana AAU coach trying to adopt DeAndre Liggins. Indiana Elite founder Mark Barnett took DeAndre under his wing in high school and even tried to open his home to Liggins. Barnett would eventually break ties with our favorite role player when Liggins signed with Kentucky. Hater. Kentucky sat Liggins for the first 9 games of the 2009-2010 season as a voluntary suspension to avoid any punishment from the NCAA. Now, Kentucky will sit back and wait for the next shot from reporters.

I don't know if you heard about this but some kid named Ryan Harrow committed to Kentucky. It's arguably the best news you got all week.
