Friday NCAA Games Kind of Make Me Sleepy

cour Yesterday was a great day of basketball and today has been...well, not as great. Still there are notes: --- A big shoutout to the Cornell Fighting Mark Courys, who took it to Temple and looked like the higher seeded team in their 17 point win. I was at a restaurant when Mark Coury hit a jumper for his only two points and the place let out a loud cheer for the former Kentucky hero. But even if Coury is a spot reserve, there is talent on the team. Randy Wittman's kid is one of the best shooters in the Tournament, and they have a 7 footer, who has some talent as well. It is a fun team to watch and could end up being Kentucky's Sweet 16 opponent. --- Tubby took his second first-round loss at Minnesota as they fell to Xavier. Smith played against a kid he once recruited for Kentucky (Kenny Frease), but the Gophers were never really able to get into a rhythm and Xavier controlled the second half. Up next for Tubby could be Auburn, where his visits to Rupp Arena would be very interesting. --- I love that the guy from Flight of the Concords is in commercials during the NCAA Tournament. I dont like virtually every other commercial that I now have memorized. --- Purdue wins and needs the Ivan Brothers to take over for Robbie Hummel. --- On the Kentucky side of things, the Wake Forest fans legitimately believe they can beat the Cats, which is cute. However the game is totally on the shoulders of UK. If the Cats give close to their best effort, they win by 10 (the line is 9). If they play poorly, it will come down to the end and its anybody's to win. Hey, did you know Steve Zahn was at the game last night? And I hear that the UK players did something nice for a girl's 16th birthday. Did you hear that?
