From the lips of Rick Pitino

rick_pitino-wassup When Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino isn't lashing out at the media over his cavorting and aborting, he plays along nicely on such things as his weekly radio show, which took to the WHAS airwaves last night. On this particular show, though, the talk wasn't all about the Filthy Cards and whether or not they'd get to host their NIT games this year. In fact, the former Kentucky coach was faced with a few questions regarding his former club and had some pretty polite things to say. He told his captive audience (captive...get it? most of them are in jail.) that he believes Kentucky to be the #1 team in the country and acknowledged that, because of their youth, they have the most room to improve throughout the season. He did add one little caveat, though. Pitino added that he does not believe that UK will go undefeated this season, which means the best they could aim for is the same fate as 64 of 71 national champions. Truly a tragedy. After talking about Kentucky, Pitino went back to chatting about the Cards and no record of that conversation exists. Because no one cares. Go Cats. (via The Bo)
