Georgetown Coach Faked a Pre-Game Speech

JohnThompson College basketball coaches have been under a lot of fire for all sorts of scandals over the years, from Roy Williams' academic fiasco, to Steve Masiello's lack of a diploma, to Bruce Pearl getting fired for inviting a recruit to a barbecue.  So it's a relief when a coach admits to something that's, well, a little less serious. Georgetown coach John Thompson III confessed to faking a pre-game speech because cameras were in the room, according to Yahoo Sports. "I maybe shouldn’t say this, but I’m gonna say it. I’m miked for pre-game talk. So I tell the team, ‘Look fellas, the cameras are coming in.’ I said, ‘I’m gonna make up something to say, all right? We’re gonna sit here, let them stay with us for about five minutes, then we’re gonna kick ‘em out, then we’re gonna have our real talk. Don’t start laughing." Can we trust anything in college basketball anymore?! Does Cal fake his pre-game speeches?  Probably not.  Georgetown is famous for restricting media access, and UK is famously the opposite.  Because Thompson
