A Georgetown College football player, Colson "Johnnie" Machlitt, passed away this afternoon from a traumatic brain injury. First reported by the Herald-Leader, police responded to the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house early Sunday morning around 12:20 p.m.  Machlitt hit his head while jumping down a flight of steps at the three-story fraternity house. A native of Villa Hills, Ky. and graduate of Dixie Heights High School, the 18-year old was entering his sophomore season as a defensive lineman for the Tigers.  Georgetown's football season is set to begin next Thursday when they host Cumberland University. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Machlitt family and the Georgetown College community.
