Getting Ready for the Holidays....

dariusmiller9_7200a.jpeg Its late so we gotta do this one quickly.... (1) Tonight the Cats get back in action against the Liberty Flames in a game that is guaranteed to garner overreaction no matter what the outcome. Whether the Cats show improvement or not, the combination of the loss last week and two weeks off means there will be a great deal of scrutiny on the outcome tonight. We will have a full preview later in the day. (2) Billy Clyde gave an injury update today. Long story short, lots of people are still hurt. Jared Carter is still tentative based upon his numerous injuries from years past, Derrick Jasper is still a long ways away, Jodie Meeks will be out for 4-6 weeks and Ramon Harris may begin practicing again this weekend (which is good). The only good news is that Joe Crawford is apparently back to full game shape. (3) There is a huge game on Saturday night at Sheldon Clark High School. The two top players in the state, Darius Miller and Scotty Hopson play each other on Saturday night in possibly the best individual matchup the state will produce this year. OF course they had to schedule it on maybe the worst day of the year, with the UK-UT football game and the basketball game that night. If anyone is planning on going, we would love to have a written report for those of us busy with the UK commitments. (4) Crazy night in college basketball. Michigan State leads all game and then falls to UCLA. St Marys beats Oregon down. Florida and Duke continue to roll. Tennessee wins by 70 POINTS! And a shoutout to the Baylor Bears, who yesterday won a preseason tournament that contained Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Wichita State among others. The finals were Baylor and Monmouth.....not likely what the tournament organizers had in mind. (5) I hope you are excited for UK vs UT on Saturday. The streak is going down and the most important Senior class in UK football for the last 30 years is graduating.....you gotta get pumped. More during the afternoon and while we will take Turkey day off, check in on Friday for full previews of the Vols trip to Lexington........
