A sad note to pass along tonight that
GJ Smith, a member of the famous "Super Kittens" group of UK Freshmen, has passed away. He came to UK in 1971 and played four years for the Wildcats, appearing in 49 games over the course of his Varsity career. After his time at UK, he went on to be the long time basketball coach at Laurel County and according to Julian Tackett of the KHSAA, he passed away this morning. He was 59 years old.
