Ronnie Ellis published a piece in the Glasgow Daily Times yesterday summarizing the outcome of the KY gubernatorial republican primary whirlwind  race. In case you missed it (and if you did, I don’t know how), Matt Bevin beat James Comer by only 83 votes, forcing Comer to request a recanvass. Ellis argues that it was Matt Jones and KSR that changed the face of the election, saying that, “Jones has become a public force in the political arena. […] There is little doubt the KSR Forum affected the final outcome.” Ellis goes on to say that Matt thoroughly pushed the candidates and got revealing responses from them during the radio debate. The debate, he argues, brought in more votes for Will T. Scott and ‘accelerated the decline of Heiner in the polls.’

It’s pretty evident that Matt and KSR changed the dynamic of the GOP primary and that all of the tough questions he asked revealed to the voters crucial information that impacted their votes. I hope this fall that KSR is able to bring the same relevant information to the gubernatorial general election.
