bevin We knew something big would go down with UofL while Matt was out of town, but I don't think any of us expected this. This morning, Governor Matt Bevin announced he is removing all existing members from the UofL Board of Trustees and naming an interim board. He went even further and announced that UofL President James Ramsey is resigning, possibly immediately. According to Bevin, Ramsey "too wants to see a fresh start." How unexpected was this? The UofL board members weren't notified prior to Bevin's announcement. Bevin said he's received Ramsey's letter of resignation, and while Ramsey is prepared to step down immediately, the process could take up to two weeks. When asked, Bevin denied that Rick Pitino or the sex scandal drove him to make this move.

"The athletic side has not driven my concerns," Bevin said, adding that he has not spoken to Pitino about the decision.
