Great Day on the Diamond for Both UK Teams

by:asdfasdf04/14/12
Sophomore Lauren Cumbess celebrates the no-no like a boss - The UK softball team hit that dusty diamond (not to be confused with Dustin Diamond) against  UGA.   The UK gals beat the No. 11 Bulldogs 4-0.  This home win clinched the series against Georgia for the girls.  Currently, Kentucky is ranked No. 45, but that didn't stop them from looking like a fantastic team today.  The most impressive bit about this game is that sophomore Lauren Cumbess threw her first career no-hitter. - For the men, they were able to bounce back from what has been a rough week.  Earlier this week, the No. 1 Cats got absolutely rocked by Louisville.  It was dreadful, and gave Card fans a bit of fodder (not much, mind you) to try and rub in the faces of BBN.  Then the Kentucky guys lost to No. 9 Arkansas by blowing a late lead.  However, they got sweet redemption today.  The Kentucky baseball beat Arkansas 5-4 in the first game of today's double-header.  The series-deciding game is currently being played in Fayetteville.  The Cats are currently up 2-1 in the 8th inning, despite getting outhit. EDIT:  Cats win the second game 2-1 and take the series. Speaking of baseball, it seems that our boy Stone Cold Willow will be hitting the diamond soon.
