Former UK head coach Rich Brooks turns 3/4 of a century today–that's right, 75! You don't look a day over 60, coach. Screen Shot 2016-08-20 at 3.50.56 PM Brooks, one of UK's most successful coaches in the modern era, retired from football in Lexington riding one of the program's best streaks in recent memory, as they had reached four bowls in a row and won three of those. Hopefully coach Stoops can lift the program back to that level. In addition to his prodigious history as head coach at Oregon, with the Rams and Falcons in the NFL, and at UK, coach Brooks also has a pretty strong Twitter game, so go ahead and give him a birthday shoutout and follow @UKcoachBrooks . My top 3 Rich Brooks moments:
  • Stevie got Loose[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A5nPbpJQGI[/embed]
  • Beating #1 LSU
  • Hitting the dougie with papa Brooks himself (sadly, no video)
That last one is the result of a familial tie–my aunt married coach Brooks' son, Denny, a few years back when the dougie was in. So, at the wedding reception, of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity to hit the dance floor with my favorite football commander-in-chief. And I must add, coach Brooks' wasn't too shabby on the dance floor. Much better than olympian Gabby Douglas.

So here's wishing a happy birthday to coach Brooks from myself, KSR, and the #BBN!
