Head of Officiating says Referees Got it Right

by:Matt Jones01/05/10
Quick note here on a Tuesday evening...Andy Katz is reporting that the NCAA Head of Officiating says that the UK-UL scrum on Saturday was handled correctly by officials. According to John Adams, "[The officials] reviewed the play and assessed an intentional personal foul to Cousins," Adams said. "It was offset by an intentional personal four on a Louisville player and they had a taunting T on another Louisville player. That taunting T resulted in the two free throws that Cousins shot as he was designated by Kentucky to shoot free throws." That is an accurate description of what happened. Apparently Adams agrees with the majority of UK fans and the media (outside of Tim Brando) who believe no ejection was warranted.
