Hey guys, please stop punching your recreational soccer referees
A referee in a Lexington recreational soccer game was punched in the face by a player, and then attacked by the player’s brother from the stands. According to WKYT, a player registered in the league under a fake name assaulted the referee after receiving his second yellow card. It happened Saturday in Whitney Young Park on St. Martins Avenue.
This is the second time a referee has been punched in recent months. A player attacked a referee after losing an adult indoor soccer game back in February.
