Huggy Bear with a Tough Start

by:Matt Jones08/14/06
You just knew this whole Bob Huggins at Kansas State thing was going to go really well. I mean Huggy Bear is a great coach, the Big 12 is a much better conference, Kansas St is a program with very little positive tradition so any success would be appreciated and Manhattan, Kansas hosts the best softball tournament in the continental United States. Things were set up perfectly. Uh oh. Problems already. Shockingly, a guy on the team named Tyler Hughes is apparently no longer eligible to play for Kansas St. Well thats too bad, right, I mean it would be great to have Tyler, but things happen. But why is it that he isnt allowed to play? Well see kids, there is the rub. Hughes is not allowed to play for Kansas St, because of a little thing called the fact that he is registered on the state of Kansas Sex Offender Registery. Yes that is right ladies and gentlemen. Kansas St had a player on its roster who played last season.....and then it turned out that he has a history of sex offenses. What can you say? I know Huggy didnt recruit the kid, but sometimes you just have to wonder.....
