Is a package deal in the works for Kentucky with Caleb Wilson and Acaden Lewis?

A recruiting avalanche unfolded right before our very eyes late last night — well, at least in the world of teenagers on social media. We already know the back-and-forth between Caleb Wilson and Acaden Lewis, two of the top uncommitted prospects in the class of 2025.

That came following the former’s official visit to Kentucky this past weekend, Wilson telling Lewis to “come on over bro” after dropping his list of final four schools to include UK, Duke, UConn and North Carolina. And then once Wilson posted pictures from his trip to Lexington, Lewis responded back, “I wanna play (with) this guy.”

Conveniently enough, those are the Wildcats’ top recruiting targets going into the early signing period to pair with fellow pledges Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno — two top-25 prospects nationally.

The latter has already singled out Lewis, the No. 36 overall recruit and No. 5 point guard, as a player he wants to join him at Kentucky.

“Acaden is a true point guard who can really score at all three levels, can really pass. He’s a tough, hard-nosed guard,” Moreno told KSR. “Every camp I’ve been to with him, he’s always gotten better. He doesn’t back down from anything. And he’s ambidextrous, so I think that’s pretty neat, too.”

Now, the former is publicly making a push for Wilson, the No. 4 overall prospect and No. 2 power forward in 2025. Johnson tweeted at the 6-9 forward out of Atlanta late Tuesday evening, telling him they missed their shot to play together in AAU ball, but can now make it happen in college at Kentucky.

“Come on (Caleb Wilson),” Johnson said. “We missed (it) in AAU. Let’s go crazy in front of the best fans in the country. BBN. ‘KY til I Die.'”

Then came the rest of the avalanche of posts — including a few cryptic ones.

“My guy,” Wilson responded to get the ball rolling, adding blue and white heart emojis in a follow-up message — plus a retweet.

From there, Wilson tagged Lewis in a tweet with a nothing but an eyeball emoji. The four-star guard quickly responded with shrug and eyeball emojis, continuing their trend of hinting at wanting to team up — now aligning with Johnson’s desire to team up with him at Kentucky.

Needless to say, the social media sequence put Big Blue Nation on notice, each of those tweets going viral with fans begging the blue-chip duo to pick the Cats.

Ah, recruiting in 2024. You can’t beat it.

Mark Pope already pulled off a pair of top-25 standouts. Can he add a couple more ahead of the early signing period? He’s certainly giving it a shot — and there is positive momentum.
