Is this one of UK's 2007 targets?

thorns.jpeg Those of you who heard Coach Cyp's great comments on The Sports Mob heard him say that there may still be "1 or 2" more guys added to the team yet this year. So the immediate talk became, "well who is this masked man?" After a weekend of searching, it looks like one target may be Las Vegas point guard Hank Thorns. Thorns, who has been rumored as a potential target for a week, told Rivals.com that Kentucky has been in contact more since Jai Lucas committed to Florida. No offer is yet on the table and it looks like the Cats and Virginia are looking hard at Thorns (who had a great AAU tournament this weekend). Thorn is 5'9" and an explosive scorer, averaging 27 a game for his high school. He is known for his quickness and playmaking ability and is a fast riser. Now the bad news....he has only one offer now.....from New Hampshire. We have heard this type of song before and it is a bit worrisome. However, many would argue that Billy Clyde deserves some benefit of the doubt due to his so-far stellar recruiting hauls (three commitments at UK....all top 50). From a Yahoo article on Nevada basketball: Senior point guard Hank Thorns of Las Vegas is being grossly under-recruited. The 5-foot-9 speedster played like a high-major prospect against Boo Williams as he nearly led his Las Vegas Dog Catchers to an upset win. Thorns scored 30 points on whirling drives to the basket and deep threes while being the unquestionable leader on his team. His on the ball defense was also impressive. Having fully qualified, Thorns said he recently fielded a call from Kentucky, but only has an offer from New Hampshire. UNLV wants him to prep, and Brewster and Findlay are possible destinations if the right offer doesn't arrive. Cats vs UNLV again? Hank Thorns.....be watching, could be more to come....
