Is today the day?

kanter Today is the day. It has to be. The NCAA has had plenty of time to review the new information and come to a decision.  Plus, tomorrow is Christmas Eve and you'd think they would want to get this over with and out of the way before the holiday.  And above all that, we're tired of waiting.  Very, very, very tired of waiting. But that wait could be over, according to the man from Danville.  Larry Vaught says don't be surprised if the NCAA announces its decision today. Larry believes the NCAA will once again rule Kanter ineligible this year but will #FreeEnes for next season. From Vaught's Views:
Don’t be surprised if the NCAA announces its decision on Kanter Thursday. And every indication is that he will be ruled ineligible for the rest of this year and then eligible next season. Would that mean he could continue practicing this year? I think it would and that would still be a plus for Kentucky because he could at least push Josh Harrellson and Eloy Vargas in practice even if he can’t help on game day.
It's likely that Larry is just guessing on this one.  But if he's right, and Papa Kanter's comments from yesterday are true, 2011 can't get here soon enough.  Enes Kanter plus Gilchrist/Teague/Davis/Wiltjer and whoever sticks around from this year will be unbeatable.  That team could hang with an NBA team.  They would probably even beat the UConn women. Still, let's not jump the gun.  The NCAA hasn't released a verdict (as far as we know.)  We can still hope Enes sees the floor this season.  But we'll happily settle for next season if we have to.  Hopefully, we'll know for sure by the end of the day. Hopefully. Free Enes.
