Isaiah Briscoe waived by the Orlando Magic

After playing 39 games with the Orlando Magic this season, the franchise decided to waive him this morning in order to make room for free agent guard Michael Carter-Williams. Briscoe, who signed with the Magic on July 6, 2018, averaged 3.5 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game this season. "I kind of figured something was going on with me, but I didn’t actually know because it actually started to get better,’’ Briscoe said at the time of the injury, via NBA.com. "It’s more about the flexibility rather than the pain, but if I can barely move it and it’s stiff then I just can’t go. Obviously, from the MRI … (there’s damage in the knee)." The Magic are currently listed as the eight-seed in the East with three games left in the season. With Briscoe unlikely to return in time for the first round of the playoffs starting on April 13, the team wanted to use his roster spot for another guard off the bench.
