Today is the day you’ve waited 204 days for, UK basketball fans: It’s Big Blue Madness day!

I know the football program has consumed our lives these last six weeks, but with the bye week and no game to be played on Saturday, it’s perfectly alright to turn our attention to basketball for a moment.

The No. 1 ranked Wildcats will take the big stage tonight, along with Coach Mitchell’s women’s team, at Big Blue Madness in Rupp Arena. Tickets are still available on the low on the secondary market and it will be televised on the SEC Network (7-9 pm) to those everywhere else. It will also be showing at KSBar and Grille if you’re looking for a good time in Lexington.

Now here’s what we can expect…

Immanuel Quickley is ready to dance.

Quickley did not shy away from talking about his dancing abilities when asked during UK’s Media Day; he insists he is the best dancer on the team and plans to show off his talents at Madness.

Some of the players gave us a taste of Quickley’s moves on Instagram during their Madness rehearsal Thursday night.

This is a dancing group, so you can expect a lot of them to show off some moves.

Except for Nick Richards. He did not hesitate to tell me he sucks at dancing and will not embarrass himself trying.

The Purge?

One player on the team is ready to purge during Madness.

May God be with you all.

The Madness guest list is long, as it is every year.

This is one of the basketball program’s biggest recruiting weekends each year and this year’s guest list is just as important as those in the past.

Here are some names to know:

Class of 2019
Vernon Carey Jr.
Kahlil Whitney (Committed)
Tyrese Maxey (Committed)
Dontaie Allen (Committed)

Class of 2020
RJ Hampton
Jalen Johnson

Class of 2021
Terrence Clarke

Many others from 2020 and 2021 will be there as well.

UK Media Day was a lot of fun.

Coach Cal was running on fumes after getting into town from a recruiting trip at 4 a.m. Thursday morning, and his lack of sleep made for a great press conference. His interaction with a reporter from Eastern Kentucky was the highlight of the day:

There is A LOT more coming your way today and beyond.

The trial up in New York is getting juicy.

Will Bill Self finally get caught for doing what many have assumed he’s been doing all along?

Two of his best players, Billy Preston and Silvio De Sousa, were named in the testimony of Adidas bag man T.J. Gassnola on Thursday. Gassnola is putting it all out there on the stand with confessions of paying the two Jayhawks and other notable players at other programs.

Gassnola also testified that Rick Pitino did not know about the payments to Brian Bowen Sr., FYI.
