Its Villanova Time

frt-08phvil465.jpeg So we are back in Louisville, just in time to hear the news that the Cats will get Villanova in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Interesting matchup for the Cats for a lot of reasons I will get into later this evening, but most interesting to me is the fact that Jay Wright, one of my favorite coaches in America, will be going up against an embattled Tubby Smith. That intrigues me. Also interesting to me is that for the SECOND YEAR in a row I said before the tournament, "I would take UK against any team in the second round as a potential upset.....except Kansas." Last year that team was UCONN, this year it is Kansas, and once again the Cats draw them. Such are the disadvantages of an 8 seed. Couple of other quick thoughts before I study the bracket some more. I like the possibility of a Texas-UNC Sweet 16 game as being transcendently good. Texas A&M got JOBBED with the potential to have to play Louisville in Lexington when they are the higher seeded team.....Gillespie should be furious. And I think all the #1 seeds (except for maybe Ohio State) look pretty good. And oh yeah....Duke is a #6....absurd I have also spoken with Jai Lucas tonight who addressed some of the recent chatter about his recruitment and how all the Tubby talk has impacted his decision. Will have more later tonight....
