The former Kentucky guard injured his left ankle in the second quarter of Denver's 100-86 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Murray was contesting a shot by Terry Rozier in the corner late in the second quarter and Murray landed awkwardly on his ankle, which forced him to be helped off the court by his teammates. He did not return to the game. While the X-Rays that followed the game came back clean, Murray is still expected to miss multiple games, according to multiple sources. https://twitter.com/NickKosmider/status/1217967167431249920 After the win, coach Malone said Murray's ankle was "rather large -- so it's kind of scary.", according to ESPN. Murray has a history of ankle injuries, so Denver will likely take it easy with him. The Nuggets are currently 28-12 with a late-night national TV game on Thursday night on TNT against the Golden State Warriors (9-33). Through 40 games for Denver - all as a starter - Murray is averaging 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.6 assists while shooting 43.5 percent from the floor and a career-low 32.2 percent from deep. The 22-year old has slightly regressed from an impressive third year in 2018-19, but is a vital piece for the Nuggets next to All-Star Nikola Jokic. This will be the first game of the season that Murray is not in the Nuggets lineup.
