January 2nd is gonna be alot of fun

Remember these 3 dates: December 5th: UNC-Charlotte 87, Louisville 65 December 12th: Western Carolina 91, Louisville 83 January 2nd: Kentucky 89, Louisville 59 I watched my first full 40 minute Louisville basketball game this season yesterday, and if you haven't seen them play yet, take it from me: this the the worst UL team in Pitino's tenure since his first year.  They have no leadership, they are sloppy, and the only player who brings them energy is Peyton Siva, a freshman.  I would not take a single UL player over Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins, Patterson, or Orton.    Edgar Sosa has actually regressed, Jerry Smith has been exposed a player who can not create his own shot, and Samardo Samuels is soft, soft, soft.  Against Western Carolina, Samuels played 28 minutes and had 2 rebounds.  I said before the season that even in a best case scenario for UL, the Cats matched up very well with because the Cards quick guards would not overwhelm the Cats quicker guards.  Add to that, the Cats had more depth in the post.  As it turns out, I am not sure there is a single area of the game where UL has the advantage. After yesterday's embarrassing loss, Rick Pitino said: "We clearly have a talent problem this year.  We lost 2 lottery picks, so that is expected.  But we will have one of the best recruiting classes in Louisville history in this junior class (2011)." That has to be real encouraging from your coach that you not only have a talent problem this year, but likely will not have top notch talent until 2011.  But, Pitino was being very honest about this year's team that they just don't have the level of talent to be an elite team this year.   All I know is I can not envision a scenario where the Cats do not win the game on January 2nd.  Even if the Cards shoot well (a possibility), I fully expect the Cats to DOMINATE in the post, on the boards, and in transition.  If the Cats do happen to lose to the Cards this year, they will have only themselves to blame.
