Jarrett Allen signs with Texas
The quiet and almost-forgotten recruitment of Jarrett Allen is finally over. The big man out of Austin, Texas will stay home to become a Longhorn. He signed his scholarship papers today.
Allen came very close to signing with Kentucky in the fall, but held off once Calipari hauled in Bam Adebayo. He still flirted with the Wildcats on into the spring, but once UK went all-in on Marques Bolden, Allen dropped the Cats from consideration.
Allen was spotted having dinner with Cal at Tony’s in Lexington on his official visit. I don’t know how anyone turns down Kentucky after a good meal at Tony’s.
The young man must really love being close to home. Good luck to him.
