Kentucky freshman Jasper Johnson will not take the court at Rupp Arena for a few months now but fans will not have to wait long to see the lefty play a competitive basketball game against top-flight competition. That is happening now in Switzerland.

Team USA’s U19 team has moved to the semifinals at the World Cup in Switzerland. Johnson and his teammates will take the floor for this final four game at 2:00 p.m. ET/1:00 p.m. CT. for this international event. We have the stream right here at Kentucky Sports Radio.

Jasper Johnson finished the quarterfinals win over Canada on Friday with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 13 minutes. Through five games at the World Cup, Johnson has posted per-game averages of 7.4 points, 1.4 assists, 1.2 rebounds, and one steal in 14.6 minutes off the bench while shooting 42.1 percent (8-of-19) from long range. The top-25 recruit is expected to have a big role on Kentucky’s team in 2025-26.

The Woodford County native is not the only Kentucky recruit in action with Team USA at the World Cup. Five-star wing Tyran Stokes and five-star guard Jordan Smith Jr. are also playing big roles for the national team on Fourth of July weekend.

Can the stars and stripes advance to the gold medal game? Stay tuned.
