Jim Gray wants to get his arms around the arena issue and listen to the KSR podcast

by:Thomas Beisner01/25/11
In a day where the news is coming as slowly as any day in recent memory, the only notable nugget turned out to be not quite so notable.  New Lexington mayor Jim Gray spoke today about issues facing the city and while he fell short of addressing the "homework" issue, he did talk a bit about Rupp Arena and the potential for an upgrade.  Gray said that he will hire a task force to look into what it would take to expand the Lexington Civic Center and turn downtown into an "arts, entertainment, business and sports district".  Not exactly the plans for the retractable roof, every player lands in a parachute or a jet pack, state-of-the-art promise you might have hoped for, but it's at least some political talk to get you mildly fired up. Speaking of mildly fired up, Matt and Zach were back on the air this morning and got their arms around the Herald-Leader financial situation, Matt's Cardrobe and, probably, each other.  Take a listen below.
