Breaking news from Churchill Downs: jockey Robby Albarado has been arrested according to Chief State Steward Barbara Borden. Albarado was scheduled to ride Hard Not To Like in today's Kentucky Oaks, among other mounts, but will not ride. His status for tomorrow's races remains unclear, as does the reason for his arrest. UPDATE: According to the Courier-Journal, a spokesman from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department said Albarado was arrested on a warrant for fourth-degree assault and domestic violence. He was arrested at 9:15 this morning at his home in Louisville. For those who know his past, Albarado's arrest is not all that surprising, as he was charged with assaulting his wife last year.
