John Petty Talks Kentucky

john-petty-dunk 6'7" swingman John Petty has been on Kentucky's radar for quite some time. The Huntsville, Alabama native is the 247 Composite's #17 player in America.  After joining Team Penny midway through the EYBL, the team has not lost, scoring 22 points to take down Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr.'s MOKAN Elite last weekend in Atlanta. Petty has been perceived as a Kentucky-lean for quite some time.  The Cats caught on early, but he's taking his recruitment slow.
"It would mean a lot to play there," Petty said of Kentucky. "I talk to Coach [John] Calipari a lot, they're not the front runner though. I don't really have a school that is the front runner, it would definitely be great to play for him though."
Petty told ZagsBlog that he's taking it slow until the Peach Jam in July.  Even though he's in no rush, recruiting experts agree that it's either Kentucky or his home state school of Alabama.  He has other offers from Kansas, Florida State and Auburn, but Petty's recruitment will likely go the route of the Maliks.  He could pull a Malik Newman and stay home, or pull a Malik Monk and leave home for Kentucky. Petty is a big fan of the windmill dunk.  If you don't believe me, watch his mixtape. [ZagsBlog
