Joker: UK is a "failure" at this point

by:Thomas Beisner11/03/10
demling-fail In his post-practice appearance today, Joker Phillips spoke candidly with reporters and said that having a 4-5 record is "a failure".  He countered that by adding that he is issuing a final ruling on the season as a whole yet though and is optimistic that the remaining three games on the schedule can change that feeling.  I think most fans would agree with that assessment.  The last assignment of the year will count for two letter grades and can easily raise that "F".  - Speaking of letters, Matt Roark's DUI might have kept him under house arrest for four days, but it won't keep him out of the Charletson Southern game.  Joker said that Roark has always done what was expected of him and that there have been no disciplinary issues in his career until showing bad judgement last week.  So, a career of doing things right earns him the privilege of probably catching a few balls on the back end of a blowout.  Hopefully, those last 11 words will be a new experience.  I've heard about prison.     - Finally, in the world of Derrick Locke, his status is still unknown for Saturday after he was subjected to no contact at practice.  Phillips said the decision to play would be Locke's to make.  When reached for comment, Donald Russell's mom said, "F--- that s---". That's all.  Happy Wednesday.
