One Kentucky Wildcat’s name was called on day one of the XFL Draft. Former All-SEC UK center Jon Toth was the fourth offensive lineman taken by the D.C. Defenders.

Freddie Maggard’s favorite player recently completed a stint playing preseason football alongside Avery Williamson for the New York Jets. In D.C. Toth will be snapping the ball to Cardale Jones, a National Championship-winning quarterback at Ohio State.

The format of the XFL Draft makes it difficult to follow. The draft has been broken into phases by position groups. Today the eight teams covered quarterbacks, offensive skill positions and the defensive front seven. Tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET they will turn to defensive backs and specialists before opening the floodgates for all players.

There are six former Wildcats still in the draft pool, offensive guard Bunchy Stallings, defensive end Farrington Huguenin, wide receiver Kayaune Ross, defensive lineman Adrian Middleton, quarterback Patrick Towles and kicker Austin MacGinnis.
