Josh Allen projected as No. 1 pick in latest NFL Mock Draft

Don’t look now, but former Kentucky superstar pass rusher Josh Allen is moving up the draft boards. Again. In fact, if his stock stays where it is right now, he won’t have any room left to move up when the 2019 NFL Draft rolls around. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports released his latest NFL mock draft, and the former Kentucky star is sitting pretty at No. 1 overall. "Could Kentucky's Josh Allen really go No. 1 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft? Definitely," Trapasso said, backing up his decision to jump on the Allen bandwagon. "While he doesn't have the bloodlines of Nick Bosa, he is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds with elite explosiveness and bend, and he had 17 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss in the SEC as a senior after an impressive junior campaign." Though CBS Sports is the only outlet to (correctly) rank Allen as the No. 1 overall prospect, some of the other prominent ones aren't too far behind. ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper still has the Kentucky pass-rusher going No. 2 to the San Francisco 49ers, saying the team needs to add a star edge-rusher on defense. NFL.com also has Allen going No. 2 to San Francisco, citing his "outstanding first-step quickness and burst" as the key factor in his high rating. Like the other mocks, the former Wildcat sitting just behind Ohio State's Nick Bosa. Bleacher Report also has Allen at No. 2, with Bosa ranked at the top of the list. They'll catch on soon enough, especially when the former Kentucky star goes through testing and drills at the NFL Combine. #DraftJosh41len [mobile_ad]
